Unit Rentals - Owners the office needs to have a weekly/monthly list of renters names in case of an emergency/repair/exterminators. This is the rule.  Please adhere to it. Also, the website has a list of various units that rent out.  If you would like to be added to the rental list, reach out to office and someone will help.
 
WAPA - WAPA is the island’s electrical and potable water service.  Sometimes these services have interruptions or scheduled outages.  To be notified on these issues you can sign up for texts here viwapa.vi or download the Everbridge app from your phone’s or computer’s app store (app is a blue box with a white v design says “for Everbridge & Nixie alerts”).
 
Where is Sapphire Bay Condominiums West (SBCW)?
  • We are located in the East End of Sapphire Beach, sometimes locally know as “Crystal Cove”. Nearby complexes also use the word “Sapphire” so please specify SBCW for emergencies, taxi service and deliveries.  When arriving on island at airport pickup the Virgin Islands this week magazine or check out website at virginislandsthisweek.com. This has all island information. 
Are Units for Rent or Sale?
  • Units can be found on the market for sale. Please see local realtors for more information.
  • Some units are available to rent by individual owners or through their personal representative. Please see local listings and visit Internet sites such Airbnb or VRBO for more information.
  • Each owner is solely responsible and must give proof of rental insurance. Owners must a list of renters/names to office weekly/monthly in case of emergency/repair/exterminators.  This is the rule.  Please adhere to it.
  • Each owner is the contact person for all guest questions or concerns including property access information, location of unit, keys/codes upon arrival, lost keys or being locked out, air conditioning, hot water, cable, power, or other appliance concerns. Non-emergency inquiries to the SBCW office for rental issues at any time are subject to additional fees.
  • Owners are required to provide the SBCW Rules and Regulations to all guests and renters. Occupants are required to follow the Rules and Regulations.
Is SBCW a hotel with services?
  • No but guests must comply with occupancy limits as set by the Government.
  • Amenities vary as units are individually owned and maintained. Please check with individual owners for snorkel gear, tennis, shuffleboard equipment and BBQ grills.
  • Renters of owners may use the beach chairs. Tennis courts and pool that are open from 9 am to 9 pm daily. Appropriate tennis shoes and attire is required.
  • The SBCW Office conducts condominium business during regular office hours. We do not sell stamps or laundry detergent.  The office sells laundry cards during regular office hours; 8 am - 4 pm M-F $5 a load each washer/dryer.
  • Inquiries to the SBCW office for non-emergency service or rental issues at any time are subject to substantial fees. Please call owner directly for all questions.
  • Help conserve island resources. Please be mindful and sparingly use water and electricity at every opportunity.
What are the Emergency protocols?

  • This is not a 24/7-hotel property. Call 340-775-6800 (after hours 340-690-6884) for all Condominium Emergencies defined as events that affect people in units above or below, have the potential to cause injury to others and/or to damage property. Examples include personal injury, intruder on premises, theft, fire, major wind damage, broken water pipes, and leaks with active running water, etc.
  • Please call owner for all Non-emergency reasons. Non-emergency inquiries to the SBCW Office for rental issues at any time are subject to additional fees.
Are there safety precautions?
  • Although a gated community, guests should exercise safety precautions at all times including locking doors, protecting valuables and staying in well lighted areas. Please be aware of your surroundings and if you see something, say something.

Are cleaning services provided?
  • Amenities vary because units are individually owned and maintained.
  • Please contact the individual owner for possible cleaning services.
  • Guests are expected to empty trash in the appropriate bins behind each A,B,C & D buildings.
  • Communal front load washers and dryers are available on site. Cards can be purchased in the office during regular business hours 8am - 4pm M-F only.
  • These machines require special “High Efficiency (HE)” laundry detergent. DO NOT USE POWDER or REGULAR LIQUID DETERGENT. Powder will clog the motors and regular liquid detergent causes too many suds preventing the rinse cycle to work. We do not sell laundry detergent.
Are pets allowed?
  • Only registered and certified trained service dogs and ESA dogs are allowed. A copy of the proper documents and SBCW Request Form must be received by SBCW Office PRIOR to visit. All SBCW Association Rules and Regulations regarding service dogs and ESA dogs must be strictly followed.  Failure to do so will result in financial penalties and removal from premises.  For more information, unit owners can contact the front office, as all approvals have to be obtained by the unit owner with the written acknowledgment of the Board.
  • If a pet of any kind is found, owners are subject to a charge of $250 per day until it is removed from premises.
  • We respectfully ask that you DO NOT FEED any wild life including birds, pond fish, iguanas and feral cats (feral cats go to the cat cafe on the property). No bird feeders allowed on units.
  • Owners are only allowed two indoor cats.
Are there on-site food options?
  • Every unit has a functioning kitchen and many guests prepare their own meals.
  • Sapphire Beach has a Beach Bar (service drinks and bar food), a coffee house called the Beach Buzz (service breakfast and coffee), a pizza shop called Paradise Pie and a beautiful restaurant called SeaSalt.  Sudi's Restaurant (bar and dine in or take out food) within walking distance located at Sapphire Village.
  • Grocery stores are located in Red Hook, just a quick ride away but often a long, hot and treacherous walk. ** Walking is NOT recommended; as there are blind spots, no sidewalks, and portions with no "shoulder" along the road to Red Hook. **
 
What are the transportation options?
  • Guests must call for their own taxis. Use only taxis with a dome light and the letters TP or TAXI on the license plates. See local listings. VI Taxi Association 340-774-7457. Taxi’s are not allowed inside the gate.
  • There are frequent ferries to and from St. John out of Red Hook.
  • Guests should park in lined parking areas only. Parking is limited and violators will be towed at owner’s expense.
What about communication?
  • Each unit is individually owned and uniquely appointed; some but not all have phone service, cable and/or Internet. Just ask the owner or rental agency about the services provided.
  • Please call owner directly for all problems with the unit including TV, cable and or Internet. Calls to the SBCW office for non-emergency rental issues at any time are subject to substantial fees.
